Based on the teachings of Srila Prabhupad, ISKCON Trivandrum has been presenting the treasure
house of spiritual knowledge to the corporate hubs like Technopark, through highly interactive
sessions handled by experienced faculties. The topics include, but not limited to, secrets of success,
stress and time management, power of habits, and knowing your goals. These sessions are a sure
shot formula for overcoming the challenges faced by people in the corporate world
ISKCON has always been in the forefront initiating programs for the benefit of the society at large.
We believe that the only cure for society’s ills, both for individual persons and as a whole, is
the process of bhakti-yoga and hence conduct weekly counselling sessions at the Central and Open
prisons in Trivandrum for more than 4 years. These programs have successfully helped many prison
inmates to lead normal lives in society and the prison officially has highly appreciated the selfless
service of ISKCON for jail inmates.
Congregational programs aim towards assisting the householders. Our programs develop a deeply
caring attitude for all members, according to their stage in life and their different levels of needs. We
have programs organizing all practitioners in small groups on a weekly basis for intimate exchanges
and building friendly relations, regular supervision and support.
ISKCON Trivandrum has been conducting youth programs in colleges and IT parks at different parts
of the city for the empowerment of the youth. These programs aim towards nourishing the hearts of
today’s youth with the sublime message of the scriptures and helping them flourish in their lives in a
wholesome manner. They focus on the contemporary social issues/problems bothering the youth
and inspire the younger generation to accept a God centred life and make their lives more regulated,
purposeful and joyful. There are separate groups for boys and girls.
A sincere spiritual practitioner confronts many doubts on his path. Some of these doubts could
be harmless but a few others can shake the foundation of our spiritual journey. Therefore there is a
need for systematic study. Our group of trained faculties conducts a session connected to the
previous one and the audience is led on a sacred journey of life’s mysteries through cogent
arguments. Lively examples relating to our daily life help us relate to the subject matter.
Srila Prabhupada’s most significant contribution is his books. Highly respected by scholars for
their authority, depth and clarity, they are used as textbooks in numerous college courses. His
writings have been translated into over eighty languages. The Bhaktivedanta Book trust, established
in 1972 to publish the works of his divine grace, has thus become the world’s largest publication of
books in the field of Indian religion, Vedic philosophy and culture.
By giving people knowledge, jnana, that is the highest service to humanity. So we are performing
the actual welfare work of society by informing everyone through our literature who is God, who
they are, and what is the relationship. ISKCON Volunteers distribute the books in exhibitions, stalls,
pilgrim centres. Thousands of Srila Prabhupad’s books are distributed during the annual Sabarimala
festival.
Bhagavata Saptaham is not an unknown word in Kerala. For ages,this divine rendition of slokas
and discourses are reverberating throughout temples and houses. Following the same path of
tradition ISKCONalso started rendering the services through Saptaham. ISKCON Trivandrum has
conducted Saptahams throughout Kerala and some parts of India. It has also conducted such
programs in middle east and far east countries. Every Monday there is a discourse on Srimad
Bhagavatam through “Bagavathamritha ” program in Janam TV at 7.00am.
Festivals are an integral part of our community, involving a large group of volunteers. They
give opportunities for the community to meet one another, share and grow in their devotion, to
hear from visiting teachers and finding renewed inspiration. Janmashtami, Gaurpoornima &
Narasimha Chathurdasi are the main festivals attracting hundreds of public to the temple. Special
attractionslike dramas, exhibitions and cultural presentations are included in these festivals.
Rath Yatras is the annual procession of Lord Jagannath along with His brother Balaram and sister
Subadra. Held in Kattakada and Parassala, it is a festival of chanting, dancing and feasting, through
the medium of which the original, blissful, Vedic culture of India is introduced to the people
We undertake spiritual retreat to different holy places like Vrindavan, Mayapur, Chitrakoot,
Badrinath, Dwarka, Jagannath Puri etc. to provide the participants a first-hand experience of the rich
spiritual heritage of India. Regular short & long distance trips to various holy places give amazing
boost to participants’ spiritual dimension, along with giving them an opportunity to bathe in the
wondrous association of devotees and the merciful darshans of the pure devotees and deities in the
holy dham
Nagara Sankirtan is an weekly event to promote public relation wiping out discrimination amongst
people, thereby strengthening the social fabric. Nagara Sankirtan can revive & restore our
endangered cultural heritage and harmony. In the prevalent environment of violence, Nagara
Sankirtan, by virtue of its nature and appeal, establishes true relation of brotherhood and empathy
as well as elevates the religious spirit in general.
With the goal of God-centred community life, ISKCON Trivandrum has started the construction of
the II phase of apartments for residence near Sri Krishna Balaram Temple. The first phase is
completed with all modern aminities and preserving the ancient values.
Gopal School is a weekend program for kids. Every parent has an earnest desire to give their child
the best by fulfilling their physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. Gopal School recognizes
the importance of these priorities and equips the kids with life long skills and attitudes, which
will enable them to make positive and outstanding contributions in all aspects of life. Annual
Summer camps are also conducted.
We have a cow farm in Parassala developed and maintained successfully for the last 10 yrs. In futrue
ISKCON is planning to extend its cow protection seva to Thiruvalla along with organic farming.
ISKCON has developed a food program specifically targeted at the needs of the poor. Started in
1974, the program includes free food, restaurants, mobile kitchens and emergency relief services
and distributes more than 400,000 plates of free vegetarian meals per day. In Trivandrum regular
annadanam is conducted for more than 20 yrs in Fort Hospital, Govt Hospitals and District Hospital.
Every quarterly Iskcon Trivandrum is conducting a free medical camp in the urban and rural areas of
Trivandrum district. Thousands of destitutes are reached through this program with aids and
counselling
During the kerala Floods in 2018, ISKCON Trivandrum reached all the strangled people in thiruvalla
and chengannur area with food packets and medical aids. ISKCON arranged specialist doctors and
nurses from mumbai to reach the isolated public. There was an immense response and appreciation
from the Honorable Chief MInister of Kerala
During the COVID times, ISKCON Trivandrum distributed 30,000 food packets and provisional
supplies to the migrants, security personals and police. ISKCON Trivandrum joined hands with police
and distributed these aids. This was widely covered in both visual and print media.
